We are a team of change-makers who believe that every young person should be at the forefront of transformation
Young People for Community Transformation (YCT) is a youth-led organization committed to advancing inclusive and sustainable development across African communities by equipping young people with the tools, skills, and platforms to lead change.
Across many African communities, young people—despite being the majority—face systemic barriers, including limited access to quality education, unemployment, climate vulnerability, and exclusion from decision-making spaces. At the same time, communities continue to experience deepening poverty, environmental degradation, and unequal access to opportunities.
YCT was established to bridge this gap by positioning young people not as beneficiaries, but as drivers of community transformation.
Through integrated programming in education, livelihood development, climate-smart agriculture, and digital innovation, YCT empowers young people to build resilient livelihoods, lead local solutions, and influence systems that shape their futures. The organization adopts a community-centered approach that combines skills development, mentorship, research, and policy engagement to ensure long-term, scalable impact.
By strengthening community-led initiatives, promoting environmental stewardship, and advancing youth participation in governance and development processes, YCT contributes to building self-reliant, resilient, and thriving communities across Africa.
